Terms of Sale

These terms are the contract between you and Alyce Beatriz Barroso de Lima when you buy the Kaolo Kids course. Buying a plan means you accept them. Please read the part about the right of withdrawal, because it is the one that changes what you can do after you open the lessons.

1. Who you are buying from

Alyce Beatriz Barroso de Lima, a sole trader established in Portugal, at R. Infante Dom Henrique 188, 8500-694 Portimao, Portugal. Portuguese tax number (NIF) 292539096. Telephone +351 927 079 091. Email support@kaolokids.com. The full identification is on the Legal Notice page.

2. What you are buying

A digital course: pre-recorded video lessons, printable worksheets in PDF and, on the Family Lifetime plan, audio files. Nothing physical is made or shipped, and there is no live teaching, tutoring or classroom.

Each plan opens the modules listed on its card in the pricing section of the home page. The number of lessons and worksheets shown there is what you get. Access is granted once, for a single payment, and does not expire.

Lessons published after your purchase are added to your plan at no extra cost, within the modules your plan already covers.

3. What this course is not

Kaolo Kids is teaching material for an adult to use with a child in their own household. It is not a school, not a registered childcare or education provider, and it is not recognised by any ministry of education. Completing it awards no diploma, certificate of equivalence or legal qualification, and it does not satisfy compulsory schooling obligations where those apply to you. Check what your own country requires.

Nothing in the course is medical, psychological or developmental advice, and no part of it diagnoses or treats anything. The kindergarten readiness checklist included in the Family Lifetime plan is a self-assessment tool for parents, not an assessment by a professional. If you have a concern about your child's development, speak to a paediatrician or a qualified educator.

We promise no particular result. What a child learns depends on the child, on how the material is used and on how often.

4. Who can buy

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a contract. The course is bought and used by adults. Children never create an account, and there is nothing in the lesson area that asks a child for anything.

5. Price, tax and payment

Prices are shown in US dollars on the pricing section and are the total you pay. Where we are legally required to charge VAT or sales tax on your purchase, that tax is already included in the displayed price, so no amount is added at checkout.

Payment is taken by Stripe. Your card details are entered on a Stripe page and never reach us. The details of how billing works are on the Payments and Billing page.

6. How the contract is formed

You choose a plan, you are taken to Stripe, and you enter your details. The contract exists when the payment is authorised and we confirm it by opening your access and sending the confirmation email. If a payment is declined, no contract is formed and nothing is charged.

The contract is concluded in English. We keep a record of your order through Stripe, and you can always ask us for a copy at support@kaolokids.com.

If we make an obvious pricing mistake, for example a price that is clearly wrong by an order of magnitude, we may cancel the order and refund you in full rather than supply at that price. We will tell you if that happens.

7. Delivery

Access opens immediately after the payment clears. The link appears on the confirmation page and is emailed to the address used at checkout. If it has not arrived within one hour, check your spam folder and then write to support@kaolokids.com. We will send it again.

Access is by a signed link, not a username and password. Keep the confirmation email: it is how you get back in on a new device.

8. Right of withdrawal, and why it ends when you open the lessons

As a consumer in the European Union you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract without giving a reason. For digital content supplied immediately, that right ends once supply has begun, provided you asked for immediate supply and acknowledged that you would lose the right.

At checkout you are asked to confirm exactly that, because the whole point of the product is that the lessons open at once. When you confirm and the lessons open, your statutory right of withdrawal ends.

We then give you our own guarantee, which is more generous than the law requires: 14 days, full refund, no reason needed, even after you have opened every lesson and printed every worksheet. The details are on the Refunds and Withdrawal page. That guarantee is a commercial promise from us and takes nothing away from any right you have by law.

9. What you may and may not do with the material

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence, for as long as the course exists, to use and print the material for the children in your own household. A registered childminder may use it with the children in their own care.

You may not resell, sublicense, rent or give away the files; upload them to a file sharing site, a cloud folder open to others, a social network or an online marketplace; share your access link publicly; use the material to run a paid class, a school, a nursery or a competing product; or remove our name from a worksheet. We keep every copyright and trademark in the material.

If you break this clause we may close your access without a refund. We will write to you first unless the breach is a public distribution of the files.

10. Your account and your responsibility

You are responsible for keeping your access link to yourself. Tell us at support@kaolokids.com if you think someone else has it and we will issue a new one.

11. Supervision and safety

Some activities involve scissors, glue, small objects, water, food, heat and climbing. An adult must be present for every activity and must judge whether it suits their own child, their child's age and any allergy or condition the child has. Follow the safety note at the top of each activity. We are not responsible for injury caused by an activity carried out without adult supervision or against the instructions given.

12. Availability

We aim to keep the lesson area available all the time, but we do not promise it will never be down. Maintenance, a failure at our hosting provider or something outside our control can interrupt it. If a module you paid for is unavailable for more than seven days in a row, write to us and we will either fix it or refund you for it.

13. Our liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.

Subject to that, our total liability arising out of or in connection with the course is limited to the amount you paid for it. We are not liable for loss of profit, loss of opportunity, or any loss that was not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was made.

14. Changes to the course and to these terms

We may add lessons, improve worksheets or correct mistakes. If a change removes something you paid for, tell us and you can have a refund even after the 14 days have passed.

We may change these terms for a new purchase. The terms that apply to you are the ones published on the day you bought. This version is dated 3 September 2026.

15. Ending the contract

The licence lasts as long as we run the course. If we ever stop running it, we will give you at least 60 days notice by email and make the files you paid for available to download and keep.

16. Complaints, law and courts

Write to support@kaolokids.com first. How complaints are handled, and the dispute resolution body you can turn to, are on the Complaints and Disputes page.

These terms are governed by Portuguese law. If you are a consumer resident in another EU country, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer rules of your own country, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live.
